
In a survey by Good Housekeeping Magazine, “60 Charming American Town You Haven’t Heard of But Should Visit ASAP” Martin County’s town of Stuart was named the sixth more charming town in America. Congratulations Stuart! You deserve it, and here’s why.
It’s unique location aside the Indian River Lagoon, St. Lucie River, and eastern Okeechobee waterways give this town the distinction of being the Sailfish Capital of the world. If you want to reel in a sailfish, this is where to go.
This is not the only award Stuart has received, they were also named by Coastal Living Magazine the “America’s Happiest Seaside Town”. It’s also on the Smithsonian Magazine’s “Must Visit Small Town”, “America’s Most Beautiful Small Town”, and “Top Ten Beach Towns in Florida” lists.
With a population of about 16,000, Stuart is home to its own airport, Witham Fields and within close driving distance to the Palm Beach International Airport.
Stuart features plenty of local shops, boutiques, museums, art galleries, cafes, restaurants, and much more. As well as city attractions, the area has great schools, many golf courses, fantastic beaches, boating areas, and fun outdoor activities for the kids. It’s known for a pedestrian friendly downtown area, so if you like to walk the downtown, it’s a breeze.
